The county of Hertfordshire...
Hertfordshire lies immediately north of London and has just over one million residents. Much of the county is green belt countryside, whilst the towns are mostly a mix of picturesque, historic market towns (St. Albans, Hertford, Hitchin and Bishop's Stortford), new towns (Stevenage, Hatfield and Hemel Hempstead) and garden cities (Letchworth and Welwyn).
House prices within the county are among the most expensive in the UK. This reflects the high standard of living and excellent commuting opportunities for people living within its boundaries.
Commuting...
Road and rail links to Hertfordshire make it easily accessible, for commuting both in and out of the county. As such, nearly a third of the Hertfordshire workforce commutes out to London, Essex and other areas of the South East. Similarly, a large number of people commute in to the county each day from surrounding areas like North London and Bedfordshire.
